Husband Update

I talk way too much about myself on this blog... so here's an update about Christopher and what's new in his world.

While I'm away at work he's been preparing for the MCAT, working on projects for our house, cooking delicious meals (sweet and sour chicken, fresh grilled burgers, fondue), and... browsing Craigslist daily in search of his dream motorcycle. After several months he FINALLY found it. When driving it home, he had a little scare because all of the sudden it died on the exit ramp and wouldn't start. He ended up having to push it down the highway and up a hill while intermittently trying to kick start it HOPING it would start back up again. We were super nervous and thought we just got scammed and were stuck with a lemon; until we realized... it just ran out of gas. haha... yeah. It's been great ever since.

But getting my "blessing" to buy this bike wasn't easy. I told Christopher that first he had to find a part-time job.

So...

Say hello to the YMCA's newest Fitness Attendant! Soon he will be putting that Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science to use as a Certified Health Fitness Specialist (aka: a personal trainer with a college degree). With those muscles and that smile, who could resist?

And I'm pretty excited because the Y is amazing - I get to take fun classes like water aerobics, yoga and Zumba PLUS they have amazing indoor and outdoor pools. We can't wait for summer! But not only for swimming... for warm nights & tasty barbecues, since Christopher also recently found us an awesome grill on Craigslist. So now he can REALLY start cooking us some meat, man-style. YUM.

This past weekend, we drove up toward Cleveland and spent some time visiting both our families. He was able to hang out with his cousin Tony, Aunt Mary and Uncle Randy. It's been like 15 years since they've seen each other so it was fun for them reunite... even if Christopher did KILL me in Just Dance Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne songs on the Wii.

While hanging out at my brother's, he spent a lot of time with two little friends who absolutely adore their uncle Chris. They followed him around like little shadows the whole weekend. I'm still not 100% sure if it's because they like him... or like the games on his iPhone haha, but either way, they were definitely sad to see him go.

And lastly... I'm happy to report, this husband of mine has actually been READING! Yes... even when he has the choices of playing Halo or watching the Big Bang Theory, he reads. This is a big deal. But wait, let me back up a few weeks. The first big deal was that he voluntarily chose to spend $30 on books in the first place. For someone who spends money very carefully, and who I've never seen read a book for fun, this was a shock. But anyway, if you haven't guessed already, it's the Hunger Games series. So far we have both read the first one and Christopher is already on the second. He loves them!

Some other notable things in his life have been: finding an awesome new motorcycle jacket on sale at Macy's, teaching 14-year-old boys at church on Sunday and helping them with their Eagle Scout merit badges on Wednesday nights, trying to convince me to come home early from work every day, re-organizing our garage, and providing me with a crash course on self-defense using mace and a knife before my trip to Brazil.

So there you have it. Christopher's life in less than 500 words.
