When you're the best of friends

Moments with Dad are a rare treasure around here lately.

Most people don't quite understand the demands of a college football coach during football season. Most days, he is gone by 7 or 8am and doesn't come home until 8 or 9pm. And since the little guy sleeps from about 7pm 'til 7:30am, that doesn't leave much playtime... if any at all.

But to be clear, I'm not complaining! He loves what he does and it's only this crazy for 4 months out of the year. I know some professions have this schedule all year-round, or require traveling all the time. Not to mention husbands and fathers in the military. Being away from your child / not having your spouse around is HARD. It makes me infinitely more appreciative of their sacrifice!

So anyway... Calvin is pretty lucky to have a dad who is so loving and always ready to play, even when he's exhausted. In some ways, it's nice that our time together is limited. It definitely makes you treasure it more!

And here's my favorite one of all... I love how his little arm is resting on Dad's shoulder. And if this was a video, you would hear the cutest, big belly laughs that would melt your heart. Because nothing is funnier than Dad brushing his teeth.

Cal sure loves his Dad. He can make him smile and laugh like no one else! These two are quite the pair. Hope they stay best friends forever.
