Dating for the Future

If you or the love of your life are into technology (aka: have a smart phone) then here's a super fun date idea.

Here you will create what is called a QR code. It's basically a bar code that can be scanned by a smart phone to result in a number of things. It's often used for quick personal business cards or marketing to get people to a website, but I thought of an even better idea... a fun way to ask someone on a date.

Scroll down and under "Select a Code Action" choose "Create a vCalendar Event." Then proceed to fill out the boxes. I selected the "Event Format" of "Fully Compliant to iCalendar Standard" because we have iPhones so I don't how the format works on other Smart Phones, but I'm sure it does.

Then after you have everything filled out, location name, details, time, date, etc. it creates a graphic for you. Then you can print it out, put it inside a card and give it to your date with instructions. She will need to download the App: "Qrafter". This will scan the code (really it just takes a picture of it) and then on the iPhone, after the graphic is scanned your event will pop on the screen. Then she will be able to save it as an event in her phone's calendar. 

Tada!  A perfect, exciting way to ask someone out on a date! Instead of an event, you could also select the "Free Formatted Text" option and send a secret message, or if you really wanna go all out you could create and upload a YouTube video and then use the link for the QR code of action. So many options!
