Since we ended up getting a birth photographer last minute AND bought a GoPro to video our experience... we decided to save a little money and opted for another DIY session for Calvin's newborn photos. (Remember the maternity ones?)
We definitely got some GREAT photos. Cal was a champ. But DIY sessions at 7 days postpartum are HARD. Boobs hurt. Belly is still 6 months pregnant. Taking a shower is already a challenge, not to mention actually doing my hair and making my face look like I've gotten more than 3 hours of sleep...
All things considered, it ended up being "okay" and the pain was worth saving hundreds of dollars. We made it through. And (hopefully) you can't tell I was having nonstop hot flashes from the heater that kept baby boy sound asleep for the duration of our session.
Here's a few favorites of our little Calvin Alan. (aka: Cal, Baby Cal, Cal-V, Super-Cal, Cal-Monster, Cal-osaurus, Calico, Mr. Man, Little Bug, Little Dude, Little Monster, Hungry Bear, Sleepy Bear... etc.)
