Calvin is...
- Grabbing our cheeks with his two little hands and pulling us toward him in for a big, open-mouth, tongue-filled, slobbery kiss. (Currently my favorite thing in the world.)
- Rocking a new hair-do. I won't say he had his first hair cut, because really it was a just a slight trim of several super long chunks on top. We're attempting a combover... which really is just a sideways mohawk because he is a total alfalfa and his hair just wants to stick up. So we'll probably switch back to his classic Cal-hawk next month.
- Trying a few teaspoons of "food" every now and then. So far he's had frozen breast milk, applesauce, pureed mangos, watermelon and sucked on an orange. (I expected him to react in a funny way because it was sour to me... but he just smiled really big and grunted for more!)
- Sitting up (kind of). He hunches over a little and uses his arms for balance, but he's definitely getting better!
- Not even attempting to roll from back to belly... but occasionally rolling from belly to back (which he started doing at 2 months, stopped for awhile, but has now started again.)
- Spinning in circles while he sleeps.
- Starting to wear a few 9-month outfits and 12-month jammies! Craziness. But still wearing some of his 6-month stuff. Also... wearing toddler-size socks?! This boy has monster feet.
- Spitting up less!
- Slobbering more. Especially when he's concentrating.
- Weight: 16.6 lbs (home scale)
- Height: 26.5" (home measurement)

Likes...
- Tummy time. Including big arm push-ups, shuffling his legs, and lifting his arms so he teeters like a rocking horse with his back arched.
- Dancing & bouncing in his Jumperoo. It's the cutest.
- Banging his toys, or hands, on the table or highchair.
- Dropping toys to watch them fall.
- Sitting on mom's lap while she works.
- Sucking on his toes
- Sucking his thumb... especially when he's tired, or hungry, or bored, or being burped
- Lights. (including lamps, light-up toys, surge protector switch, baby monitor, computer screen, TV, phones, etc.)
- Pinching... really hard!
